Bits and pieces

Well, I think talking about my new plans for 2016 is a pretty suitable topic for New Year's Eve.

Current plans for 2016

Well, there is lots of rather new stuff like Akatsuki no Yona, Arslan Senki or Kamisama Kiss... But also quite some classics as Final Fantasy IX, Fire EmblemVII, Ranma 1/2, Fruits Basket and last but not least the first Clamp Manga RG Veda. It's an interesting mixture to my mind. And I'm even going to cosplay some more females in the future it seems. I have to say that I choose them so rarely is just due to which characters I like best in a certain series and to which I feel most close. And these two criteria are often rather fulfilled by male characters... plus to my mind it's often more fun to walk in their shoes. Still, I am female and I like it.^^ It might just be the case that I don't think I'm pretty enough for some beautiful female characters ^^'''...

But enough about this. Why bits and pieces then? Actually I have already got some stuff ready for quite some of these costumes xD (except for Freya Crescent from FF IX). But... haven't finished a single one yet. For Narsus from Arslan Senki and Ryouga Hibiki from Ranma 1/2 I already have got the boots and all the fabric :).
For Kurama from Kamisama Kiss I happen to have the wig and a white shirt.
For Lyn from Fire Emblem VII I happen to have some of the fabric.
In case of Karura-oh from RG Veda a great surprise happened during our secret santa event online that an old friend happened to be my secret santa and she made the jewelry for Karura for me *-*.

And in case of Shigure Sohma from Fruits Basket I already sewed the black yukata and have got all the fabric for the haori, obi (and possible undergarment) and an old wig of mine suits him pretty well (if you consider his hair is black like in the anime). It's great to cosplay him for a change as well :) cause he is my other favourite character aside from Kyo^^. Plus I have met an awesome cosplayer who'd like to cosplay Ayame :). So just Hatori would be missing (or goofing around with Ayame would be only half as funny ^-^).

So one character's missing... Well... this is cause I've been so hopelessly overwhelmed by the  Akatsuki no Yona virus lately that I'm currently set on getting a certain cosplay finished asap.... till late February for Ticon to be exact.

Already got me most of the fabric for Kija, think about sewing patterns, got me a wig (which still has to be cut), asked for a comission of his dragon claw (since an acquaintance knows how to handle latex) and think about having the pattern from his edgings in the manga printed instead of taking at the very minimum one month to paint it by hand -.-''')... the shoes also happen to be tricky to find as I don't want to make a bootcover, only modify existing ones... Well... but I think it's progressing nicely :).

So why the hack am I so flashed and why this particular character? Well... Akatsuki no Yona's a fantasy story... with lots of comedy and serious tones and last but not least a great combination of characters who act very believably according to their different backgrounds. (It reminds me of a Pen&Paper RPG-setting ^-^.)

Kija happens to be (besides appearance and my obvious yen for silver-haired characters *coughs*) a willfull up to pigheaded guy, fearless except in front of bugs and "proactive women" xD, who often shows emotion (sometimes being quite short-tempered xD), "an optimist up to the point of idiocy", in general a teamworker (except for his little rivalry with Hak ;)), last but not least a never faltering, overly motivated guardian! with a certain upbringing and good manners but also quite some naivety due to it. Plus even though he possesses like every one out of the four dragon warriors a power no one else in the entire universe does, he's far from overpowered and at times a real idiot xD.
Only problem to my mind: He can be really cute... not sure if I'm able to portrait that.... -.-''''.

I have to admit though it was a rather close call with Hak in the beginning whom I like very much as well and lately I also have a soft spot for Jaeha. Still... I noticed that I somehow happened to focus a lot on Kija while reading or watching which is a rather obivous sign that he's at the very least one step ahead of the rest.^^
