The lenght of an introduction...

Heya out there ^^

Somehow xShunShin@deviantart.com got me into this idea of starting a blog about one of my favourite hobbies namely Cosplay.

I’m not sure if anyone will be interested or if maybe just my very close friends and acquaintances might like to have a look at what I’m currently up to.  But it would be nice, although I’m not the most skilled person and still trying to improve, if I also could help one or another especially regarding the crafting stuff.  Most likely I’m going to upload some tutorials of one or another of my old props as well ;) and if there should be questions or someone seeking for help I’ll try my best to give advice in my free time.

Oh, maybe I should introduce myself as well xD.

My name here is MissLunatic (which is also my name on cosplay.com and animexx.de), on DA I’m also known as Chayantou though. The first is a nickname describing myself since I’m rather a nightowl and have to my mind the good portion of crazyness which keeps most ppl sane in this world ;).

I’m an active German cosplayer since mid 2008 and have done about 30 different cosplays in that time. Some very casual and some a little more elaborate ones. Often I get help from friends though since I don’t own a sewing machine and am a little afraid of wig styling still. I know how to handsew, paint patterns and to make props though ;). The last is my favourite interest when making cosplays. Another thing I have to add is: I don’t use contact lenses since I’m rather afraid of something coming that close to my eyes and can only force myself to look at ppl who put them in or out. So regarding eye colour my cosplays are very rarely perfect, but they aren’t perfect anyway xD. Is there even something like a perfect cosplay? xD

I love cosplay just cause of the fun it brings. Cause of meeting ppl, the random ideas and also tend to make fun of my chars. I’m neither one to compete nor like ppl sticking up their noses. For me presenting the char and most important his/her spirit and unique personality is more important than perfect seams and fits or being his/her identical twin.

Regardings series I have wandered through some fandoms over the years xD. My first two cosplays were Nami from One Piece and Kagura from Inuyasha since we three newbes back then couldn’t decide on one series to cosplay from together. Soon afterwards I had my Naruto phase and Temari became my favourite cosplay from that series. Afterwards I cosplayed a real lot from Bleach mostly, but my favourite cosplay char from that series will always be Hanatarou, I think. The next anime/manga that really flashed  me was D.Gray-man, me cosplaying as Komui Lee and currently I’m still very much into cosplaying Gokudera Hayato from KH Reborn! But these are just some big names. I also cosplayed a lot from many other series ;), I’m just too lazy to add all of them. And It’s not as if I retired from cosplaying any of them (except of Nami most likely). My cosplays are nearly all still existent and I might take them out of the cupboard anytime I feel like it.

Oh, besides I cosplay as females and males. All depends on the char and if think I could pull him/her off convincingly.

So what else to tell? Other hobbies of mine are glass engraving, rpging (chat and pen&paper and I even might try out larp some time), writing, reading (mainly fantasy but also classical literature and other stuff) and playing the keyboard (just to relax).

I guess since the entry is already that long I leave out how I am. Rather want you to get your own picture of me while reading this stuff ;).
