Old year, new year – plans, projects and changes

Yes, I haven’t been writing for a while now. I rather preferred to be prolific in one or another way and as already told there was still a visit to Munich and some university stuff waiting.

But except for finishing Okumura Rin’s schooluniform from Ao no Exorcist and his tail, there wasn’t much to present anyway.

Still this schooluniform’s a piece I’m proud of. Thanks to Fjallar@deviantart.com I got me the right firm (?) fabric for it (although in the end it sadly seems to be bleeding out -.-). Thanks to my grandma I got some help with the pattern again as well. I used partly Sawada-Uri@animexx.de’s sewing-machine and partly hand-sewed again. Especially the complete bias-binding was added by hand. I found the logo on DA, modified it a little, printed it and ironed it onto the schooluniform. Originally I even intended to use buttons with a pattern close to the original… but as I didn’t find anything at all, I decided to go with plain buttons…

What else about the cosplay? I found the boots in a shop just as they are. Only had to add the fur cuffs. Therefore I sewed some rests of white artificial fur on elastic band. Oh and the tie was simply and most efficiently bought.

The most tiresome part was the tail though… Needed two days to sew the tuft (also out of rests of black artificial fur from another cosplay) and the hose and to add some wire inside… Still I’m not content with ‘Winfried’ though, as it got nicknamed due to the wish of some friends on Skype since "Schwanz” in German is also a term for male private-parts. In my stupidity I made the mistake to stitch up the end of the hose and had to add the wire inside the hose and the tuft more or less separately. So it became rather fragile. Have to change that when I’ve got more time.

Already wore it in December 2012 (pic taken by Gino_@animexx.de) and had much fun although I still don't feel as incharacter as I should. But first tries only rarely go well for me anyway.

Well, so much about last year. I’m already working on a new project though, also for Animuc in April. Namely Gokudera Hayato’s Sistema CAI version from KH Reborn!. So currently I’m enjoying to sew another black jacket. But… there is something new about this after all since I finally got me a sewing-machine *-*. Or rather my friends started a pool for my birthday. 

And this is my new tool of choice :):

Thinking about nicknaming it Nana since it works that reliable up till now. (Only had difficulties with adding a zipper to elastic fabric but rather due to the elastic effect of the material since when I took out the needles while sewing the fabric shifted. And little difficulties when sewing very many layers of fabric together.)

So the jacket I’m currently working on is the first one that will be about 90% machine-sewn by me.

It's currently nearly finished just missing the decorative zippers/ front pockets.

It feels a little weird, when I wear it... but the original's already got a weird form as well... Besides the blue shirt in the back was bought. Just have to shorten the sleeves.

So I guess the next blog will be about the boxes and belt buckle and more worth reading to my mind. When I’ve finally decided on a material for sure that is. And maybe I’m going to start my work on Rin’s sword Kurikara as well. 

Plus there is another blog I’d like to advertise. It’s unfortunately written in German… but maybe the pics will tell their own story. It’s the blog of our Saint Seiya group this year and we want to show the progress of our armours. It’ll contain two projects mainly: On the one hand the making of a whole Gold Saint group from Saint Seiya – The lost Canvas (I’ll take the role of Scorpio Kardia.) and on the other hand the god armours from the artbook. But I’m not going to participate in the second due to time, money and reasons of comfort.
