Forgotten post -.-''

Omg entirely forgot this draft for months ^^''. It was written back in July:

As already said sadly I don’t manage to update this blog on a more regular base. But since I haven’t been lazy the last months I’ve got to show a huge pile of cosplaystuff ;).

Let’s start with a little addendum to Lal Mirch:

I haven’t shown her gorilla shoulder protector yet. It got finished during the last night before Hanami back in early May and I think it looks like that, but not too bad to refrain from wearing it. It’s made out of worbla and in fact the most fragile part of the cos. Due to a lack of material and time I fastened it to my shoulder using safety pins and sticky tape. Originally I wanted to use hook-and-loop tape but in the end this temporary version worked out more or less well, just a little complicated to put it on.

Another important part of this cosplay is the make up. So this gets an extra part in this blog as well. To my mind in the manga it’s not a tattoo in her face but a burn scar. At my second try I achieved a  more or less realistic result I really like :). Especially since I’m more or less a noob regarding make up.

I used a layer of gelatin first. (It’s important not to solve the wet layers in too much water. Just enough that it get’s jellylike.) Then I just used my fingers to adjust it in my face and after everything finally had become dry (used a hair drier once in despair to speed up the process) and felt like dried glue, I first put a layer of my usual make up onto it and afterwards used a cheap lipstick to add a reddish brown colour. Funny additional fact: Of course I had to do this before a shooting and to wait for the others for about one hour at the station… But I have to say no one really stared at me.

I apologize again, but I will post Run’s dress another time in an extra entry when I have got time to look for the pictures. Especially since the work on this cos deserves no less.

There are some not as elaborate cosplays I’d like to show though.

First of all: Last weekend at Cosday² a friend and me cosplayed the LM.C CD cover version of Tsuna and Gokudera from KH Reborn!.

Therefore I had to sew my first overall. I was really afraid to start work on it, especially since the fabric was so stretchy. But my friend and cosplay partner calmed me down and just told me to attach the pattern of a T-shirt to the pattern of trousers and add a hood. She was right and everything worked out very well :). We made a point of accurately adding all the details: The correct emblems (even the ones beneath the hood), the necklaces and the exact buttons (my friend even designed Tsuna’s on her own cause they aren’t visible on the cover). Regarding the last point we got help from two friends one of whom owns a button machine. Without this the cosplays would have been much more expensive and difficult to make. (Besides I made the pendant Gokudera wears out of fimo light again.) Since it is such a comfortable and funny version I’m really looking forward to wear it again, next time also together with our Yamamoto. :)

So one more Reborn! cosplay and I’ll keep quiet regarding this xD. This time it is an own design and a funny nonsense version planned for AnimagiC at the end of this month. Somehow some time back in a skype chat we got the funny idea to cosplay the characters in fitting pyjamas for small children and just to go to the con with pillows and blankets and to chill out and have a pyjama party xD. Guess it will be lots of fun and this is what came out of this idea:

I decided on little aliens obviously since Gokudera’s so obsessed about UMAs all in all xD. And I can picture this obsession started already during his early childhood days. In the beginning the design all in all was different though and I planned to use the patterned fabric only for the sleeves and trousers and wanted to paint a huge alien or space ship on the white body of the shirt. But in the end I preferred this design due to time reasons… The bias tape had to be dark red or dark blue cause I somehow associate these colours with him. In the end I decided on blue cause he’s a boy afterall and the blue trousers are a reference to the colours of his sistema CAI version.

So, it seems that AnimagiC will become the con of own designs for me… (and the one of silver hair xD) since the other cosplay I’m currently working on is Locke Cole from Final Fantasy VI and this very old game doesn’t have cosplayable official artworks. So I’m mostly basing it on fanarts and my own taste.^^
I did a lot of cosplay hunting (aka shopping ;)) mostly up till now. And want to show what I got.
Plus I already notice, that the design of the cosplay really is created while I’m working and the details change daily.
I just can already say that I decided on a dark blue nearly black fabric for Locke’s jacket cause it is more true to his game avatar than black and that I thought silver and cold colours match with this better than gold. I also decided that I’d like to use some exotic, colourful (partly animal) based patterns since he’s a globetrotter and self-styled treasure hunter afterall. I decided against too excessive jewelry though, cause I can’t imagine him wearing tons of this, since he obviously isn’t one of the most rich characters in the game and in truth a thief. I also want to avoid the black or blue lipstick since I simply can’t picture him with this at all.
I already started to sew the jacket, but I guess it is better to show it, when collar and zebra pattern are added.
