Hello again
after a very long time. But due to the crunch mode of my diploma thesis and a
lack of motivation I haven’t updated the blog for quite some time (more than
half a year actually ^^’’).
But as it
seems that I could actually help someone with this blog I think I want to
continue nonetheless although I’m going to skip some of the stuff I did last
year.
But at
least I want to add something to the last blog entry: Remember last time’s
lumps of fabric?
This is the
outcome of one of it and actually the one I’m most proud of although I want to
upgrade this cosplay this year. My Locke Cole cosplay from Final Fantasy VI.
I’ll try to sew more fitting trousers, add some
more props for my treasure chest and maybe add some more decorations as well. I’m
really happy that our FF VI group is going to reunite again in the beginning of
June. :) Afterall this group provided me with one of my most memorable cosplay-experiences
ever due to their motivation and taste of humor. We are even to grow! Shadow
and Gau are going to join next time as well and possibly also general Leo.
Oh and
about the props: Two are online on DA with a description (Swordbreaker and Thief knife), so I just
want to show my treasure chest. I’m especially proud of the lock picks. It’s
just bended silver wire :). Our bachelor student kindly helped me and explained
to me back then how the real thing is most likely to be used. Yeah, that’s the youth of today xD!
Oh and I
guess I have to spam a picture of another cosplay since I was able to
finish another dream cosplay in December: The Colore artbook version of the 10 years
older Gokudera Hayato. (And yes I still love that idiot far too much ^^’’’ and
feel very much at home cosplaying him.) Unfortunatley the pic's not the best, but you see the clothes rather well on it.
To do batik again on the shirt was pure
fun, as much as dirtying up the trousers xD. Fortunately I got two pieces of
advice beforehand: 1st To put
in the shirt as far as I wanted to dye it, put it out a little at once and then
slowly lift it out of the bucket some cm
per 5 minutes to get a gradient dye effect. 2nd to use lots of water
while adding the colour on the trousers.
Looks much more neat than without and the tendency that it crumbles off
afterwards gets reduced. Oh and besides cause of all these accessories I felt
like a Christmas tree while wearing it xD. (And just for your information: The belts
weren’t missing… the shirt just slipped down a bit too much -.-‘’. And yeah I sewed
the black and the white shirt underneath cause I’m crazy…)
Ok ok, so
much about last year. What I also want to show though is a small preview of Young
Griff from A Song of Ice and Fire (also known as Game of Thrones).
Not sure
when I’m going to wear my book cosplay now cause I had no chance to finish it
in time for last year’s book fair. But the least I’m going to do is a shooting
:). Besides the cape’s already finished,
also the blue shirt, the leather vest as well and I found a nice dagger at
Elbenwald for it. Just lacking a sword now (possibly going to buy a larp sword)
and the rubies on the necklace need to be prepared. Going to show one or another picture of the
finished one once it’s finally entirely complete.
So, what about
2014? The first convention I’m going to attend is Ticon in Würzburg at the end
of February. Actually it’s a very small but as I have heard very nice
convention although it’s a little crazy of me to go there due to the travelling
costs compared to other cons ^^’’… But I was curious afterall and we are finally
going to cosplay Psycho-Pass there again :). And this time I’m not going to
improvise Kagari anymore. Currently I’m working on my dominator in fact.
Love-of-Krye@deviantart.com
linked me a very great tutorial after I already had started and made some mistakes ^^’’ (so much about the
title).
But in
combination with a LED tutorial done by Kamui (rather famous German cosplayer,
she makes purely awesome armours and props) and the nice help of our technician at university I have now
truly started the challenge to try my luck with a dominator containing LEDs.
Hopefully I’ll be able to finish it in 9 days. Atm I’m cutting the base out of
a certain PVC plate. Not sure about the correct English term, I’m sorry.
Already got 4 of them ready (not sandpapered yet though), missing about 2-4 plus the decorations on the
outside (and my arms are already aching ^^’’). Also got me batteries, cable and
cyan LEDs as well but that’s the next step.
So you want to
know the reason why I’m that late again? Currently writing applications, enjoying the fun of rpging with friends (surprise-surprise in the role of Gokudera ^^''), plus
another random spontaneous cosplay crossed my way as my original plans got
crossed for the other day of Ticon. As a
good friend got me to watch Kuroko no
Basuke in December after a whole year of boycotting it and we wanted to cosplay it together anyway, we spontaneously
decided to cosplay it there. Also cause there is a basketball court close by and
hopefully a McDonalds or Burger King as well xD. I have to take photos with
lots of burgers on my plate afterall. And yes, if you know the series, you possibly
got it: I’m going to cosplay Kagami Taiga and yoshi_in_black’s going to join me as
Kuroko Tetsuya. (I guess it will be very very funny xD.) We are going for the school uniforms and as
she’s got little sewing experience and we are about the same size (and yeah, I know
that I’m lightyears too small to cosplay Kagami xD) I decided to sew her
uniform as well as a birthday present. Of course the uniforms are already finished.
And here is what I want to show you for fun in a picture in a still unfinished
state. I’m curious if you find the error in here xD.
And yes, I’ve done that on
purpose (maybe overdone it a little though^^'') cause Kagami’s school uniform doesn’t fit very well xD. Possibly there
were none in his size or he hit a growth spurt short before the beginning of
the series.
So that’s
all for today. Guess I’m going to update the blog after Ticon or whenever my
dominator is finished :)!

I think the dominator looks awesome so far!! I went after her tutorial too.. :) but I used the worng kind of foam so I need to redo it in the future with LEd lights that is. >< Good luck on yours and the cosplays :)
AntwortenLöschenMany thanks. It's just some plates up till now though xD. Nothing special about it. Meanwhile I have cut all the base parts and currently I'm figuring out how to cut the decorations.
AntwortenLöschenToo bad that you got the wrong foam -.- I'm not sure in fact if I got the material she actually meant ^^''. The problem is as she told me that she didn't translate the term accurately and that I had to translate it back. But the stuff looks good to me.
I hope I get finished in time though. The con's just next weekend ^^'' and I still have to cut the rest, glue everything together, apply spray paint, adjust the LEDs... But at least I have got all the materials needed already here except for colour for the brown parts and the switch.
I think I could need some luck afterall... cause for the bookfair next month I've got two new cosplays planned as well and well... and in between will be my first job interview which is of course more important than cosplay atm. But somehow I'll manage I believe.
Besides: I somehow managed to kill my first reply when I hit the log out button instead of the comment button -.-'''
