Sorry, but again I rather preferred to finish cosplays over uploading progress stuff. But this time I'm just some weeks behind.
The cosplays for bookfair Leipzig got ready barely in time just due to the very nice help of some friends even after we arrived at our hostel. But even though it was quite some stress before and at the con as well (cause I really had to switch cosplays on saturday) it was a very very memorable con for me and after Ticon a really great start into the cosplayseason :).
So... what to show first? I guess I start chronologically. The cosplay that first got finished was my cosplay for LBM sunday, namely as already said Khan from Disney's Mulan. I lined the grey coat I already talked about and which reminded me of a raincoat back then xD with this strange artificial velour leather and added about 300 hotfix studs just armed with a tube of universal adhesive and a kebab skewer (to distribute the glue on the stud and to place it exactly where I wanted to have it).
Well, afterwards I still had to sew the cape using our old hairdressing cape as a pattern xD. Not joking! And formed some parts of the cosplay out of fimo light and painted them golden.
Here you can see the outcome. As it is a very unique design by Wickedy I want to show it together with the whole cos as well.
Plz don't think anything of this posing xD. A friend already made fun of this. It's not a posing at all in fact, just pure cluelessness.
I somehow like the cosplay and I really like the wig and as it is originally my wig for Hotohori from Fushigi Yuugi I finally feel the urge to cosplay his majesty after more than two years of postponing -.-'' I will!
So, now about my other new cosplay for LBM (saturday), namely Alibaba Saluja:
I already showed the blade of his metalvessel in the last entry, now I want to show what became of it.
First I added the handle which was a strain taking form in the shape of fimo light. I also added two green rhinestones and two metal pins while the fimo hadn't dried yet. Afterwards the sidehandle became really a bother to make it stable and to get the shape done... I used wire to this purpose which I attachted to the still drying fimo and covered with fimo as well which was by far the hardest part and the one where I became the most inexact regarding the original. But well... I'm still contend.
When the Fimo had dried I painted the handle with golden acrylic and retraced the shape of the star at the blade with black acrylic to make it more prominent. I also added the decoration close to the rhinestones with perlmaker. And as a I was really running out of time I made the sheath out of worlba just in half an hour, spraypainted it black, already head to take it with me to my friends place and to decorate it with perlmaker there ^^'... (plz mind that I usually work more accurately regarding this!)
[I also had to accept the job I was offered there cause I was really out of time and it was more easy than continuing to sew or even to paint and craft at her place.]
But all in all my metalvessel proofed to be more stable than I thought and I guess I'm improving in making daggers. I only have to slightly repair the sheath. Here is a picture taken at home after the con:
So, all in all LBM was a very memorable, funny convention even though I didn't get an autograph from Kazue Kato -.-''. I hate the lottery system.
What's still missing? Yes, I also want to show what became out of my Dominator meanwhile. I glued all the pieces together, filed the sides as smooth as possible which unfortunately wasn't enough -.-''and I also improved the pencil markings.
Afterwards I finally took heart and spraypainted both sides black.
The brown parts are of course still missing and need to be painted.
But I also added windows out of foil painted with black acrylic to imitate the scale bars (and to save up LEDs ^^''). Finally I also started to sweat the single LEDs together into groups of 3 and afterwards sweat the groups of one side (15 LEDs) and the groups of the other (18 LEDs) alltogether as well in a parallel circuit. And now I've got a chain of holiday lights xDD. It's a realy chaos inside up till now though and the batteries and the switch are still missing. But I guess most work's finally done :).So stay tuned :). Soon going to finish, although I guess I have the chance to continue sewing one of my cosplays for Dokomi before.
