Oh and by the way happy new cosplay year!

I just saw that I totally forgot to spam my new old plans for 2018 here as well ^^''.
Gonna change this now! And also my traditional Which-cosplays-became-reality-in-the-end?-meme as well.
So, first let's look back to 2017 as this already tells a lot about my cosplay plans for this year as well.^^

Soo... I started last year highly motivated as ever with Mystras Leoxses and my own Hak cosplay at Ticon :) which both actually turned out really great and I really like to wear them again. From mystras I learned how to add a lot of scarves to a cos and how tedious a wellfitting colar can be to make... (I sewed that one thrice! thrice!!!).
Afterwards another whish came true: Cosplaying the flashback versions of Kazuma and Bishamon from Noragami together with Anbu. I learned a lot about actual parts of Japanese kimonos/yukatas in the beginning from Ageha-san :) as I wanted to be more accurate this time and sew my first nagayuban ^-^. It's a plain cosplay but except for the color of the fabric I'm very happy with how neat it turned out.
Geuntae turned out to be an edging monster xD But I had lots of fun with it after Karamin helped me with the basic pattern of the coat and the collar. Also using fake fur in combination with fake velour edging was a new thing to me. Turned out awesome! I really like the materials I used here although this cosplay seems to be a sad first: I never had after more than 6 month not a single nice picture of a cosplay. There were in fact some but the photographer never gave them to me... But I'm unsure if Geuntae suits me anyway -.-'' sadly. Guess too masculine characters are a bit too much to ask for... experienced already the same in Kaze of Kagami Taiga from Kuroko no Basuke.
The next spontaneous thing was Zuko xD. He was planned, don't get me wrong. But in early summer my brother in cosplay eph_eph asked me if I'd like to join an Ao no Exorcist and an Avatar group at Aninite and they happened to have no Zuko and were all cosplaying the Ember Island versions... Sooo... I was more than happy to start asap xD. Zuko turned out very need and I used appliquéing for the very first time. Took quite some tries but now I have practice for the other originally planned version :). Plus the scar turned out quite well^^ and I really love to portrait him!
Another dream cosplay I have been working at for quite a while now also came true: Freya Crescent from FF IX! Learned very very very much during the process and this is one of the rare cosplays I'm really eager to improve further. Usually I'm (except for making some more accessories to interact with) just content with how a cosplay turned out in the beginning.
Ryouga and Narsus got postponed to 2018 though cause it was just too much and Freya and Zuko ate up too much time. Nonetheless 6 new cosplays is no number to feel ashamed about at allxD.

Soo old plans become new plans pretty much actually xD. Wanna cosplay of course now Zuko's other version which I'm currently working on for the bookfair in March. Ryouga is also planned in April with a friend, hopefully also Narsus is going to make it and Dazai. So what's new? Well... Karamin got me really into the Fire Emblem hype ^^'''... I played Fates Birthright, started Fates Conquest, played Awakening more than half way through and got to know some more awesome FE cosplayers. Soo... logical conclusion this year will be full of FE concerning new plans. Kaze will be the first in April for Animuc in Munich with my little wonderful group :) gonna play copy ninja xD as Karamin already did the female ninja design for Kagero and I can ask her a lot if need be. Also for Dokomi ball I plan something quite elaborate: An own version of prince Takumi also from Fates. It will be based on his swordmaster version which again is based on his father's clothes... not that I ever would reclass him and prevent him thus from using his devine bow, but it really suits the ball... I will mix some Hakuouki elements instead of armor as it should be a ball not a fighting version. Also back is Lyndis. I think I already have got fabric for her... since 2013 ^^'' so she really is due to be cosplayed and I think she is still my most favourite FE character of all. Plus finally a female human character again! And there will be a group from Blazing Blade at Connichi soo... can't hold back any longer. Another cosplay which has become very likely if I manage is Hak's fuga version. Akatsuki no Yona is still sooo dear to me and we are gonna have a great international group at Dokomi as well with many minor characters... and if I don't get it done I can still cosplay normal Hak instead. So less stress with getting finished in time. I would have really whished to include Alibaba's djinn equip as well but it would be too fancy to work on this year although Karamin and me already started work on bodies for us. But I think 2019 will be much more reasonable in this case.
Too many plans I fear again with getting my PHD finished. But well... we'll see.... too motivated ;_;. Also there happens to be after completing this meme another version of Takumi I fancy a lot ^^'' already got some mint fabric for sale... and found a nice grey one which the store always has.

But this is exactly what I love. traditional asian clothing, my favourite colours green and blue... and all these nice but not tooo flamboyant patterns.... Maybe I have time late this year to include this one otherwise there is of course 2019...

Soo in short: 2018 will be the year of traditional (mainly asian) clothes xD but the patterns are mostly rather easy and I have a thing for these ^^''. The only exception might be Dazai from Bungou Stray Dogs. Already got everything at home and it wouldn't be much to sew so he might pop in any time I feel I have enough time left to work on him.
Soo after this intermezzo again, the next post might be either about Zuko or something I have waited to show you for a while (cause I rather wanted to post the whole work on Freya first but I can screw this now anyway): Some prop making from fall including wood weathering ^-^.

  1. XD Well, also historical European, but yes.

Well, I don't do so many girls. But yes... she has been on the list for a while cause I like her very much from all the characters. No offense but she has significantly more personality than Chizuru and a friend of mine would cosplay Kimigiku. It's just again quite unlikely... but there is always a next year as well.... And yes, she's also rare here, but sometimes you spot her.

It's Kaze or in Japanese he is called Suzukaze. Going to work on that cosplay next after Zuko most likely. Depends on changing plans for LBM atm.

Hihi, can't say I'm sorry about getting ppl interested in Akatsuki no Yona xD. Akayona is a very unshojo shojo manga in comparison.^^ It just starts out a bit cliché. So plz if you start don't just watch the first 2 episodes or read the first few chapters. At least wait till there are more than 2 characters in the party.^^ With more ppl it becomes much more interesting. Also be aware that the anime unfortunately ends atm where the story is really getting going.

  2. No problem xD. The font is a bit ambiguous in this case. Funnily going to start with the weapon besides xD. Which is very rare. Only did that for Lyn so far.

:) Well, the anime and the manga don't differ at all in the beginning and later on there are only very few differences regarding what is shown first. So you could also start with the anime and then change to the manga. But it's up to you of course.
